MOD Engineering Infrastructure Study

To facilitate scrutiny and approval of a Business Case for the fielding of a future armoured vehicle, Defence Equipment & Support required an independent Facilities and Infrastructure study be conducted, identifying any unforeseen consequences of fielding the new vehicle. Engage had to identify whether a site had the correct facilities and infrastructure. The task was made particularly challenging as it had to be conducted during a Covid Lock Down, with potential sites being distributed across the UK – some locations were 500 miles apart.
Engage provided a team of Subject Matter Experts who were responsible for producing a detailed technical report establishing the available infrastructure at 13 MoD organisations and assessing suitability for sustaining an un-named vehicle.

The team used innovative methods to circumnavigate the challenge of the Covid-19 pandemic, quickly gathering data and information for analysis. Knowledge of the military environment and extensive engineering experience of the team enabled Engage to not only quickly recognise complex issues for deeper analysis but to deliver a higher quality report.

The team provided a comprehensive report, assisting the client to make informed investment decisions. The study went beyond the original requirement making pertinent observations and describing potential integration issues with fielding the new vehicle. Engage also enhanced the deliverable by providing the client with an analysis tool which the client could use to understand the impacts of future design changes without having to conduct additional studies, saving time and money.
Our engineers, can draw on years of hands-on experience to conduct detailed systematic analysis of engineering challenges. What others see as problems, we see as opportunities for exploiting innovation and adding value.

Their experience and knowledge was a great asset to the project and more than once enhanced the end product.
