Total Through Life Support (TTLS) Engineers

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities. • Co-ordinate and significantly contribute to the definition and development of the platform / equipment’s TTLS plan and associated TTLS documentation using MOD TTLS methodologies. • In liaison with, Project Manager (PM) / Operations Manager (OM) / Supply Chain Manager (SCM), Commercial and TTLS colleagues: - Lead, manage, coordinate, develop, implement and optimise support solutions through the provision of relevant, timely and accurate support information, data and analysis. - Manage and improve platform / equipment availability, reliability and sustainability targets considering levels of failure, repair and engineering service requirements. - Define, manage and adjust all necessary contract arrangements. - Provide management of specialist technical support, e.g. tools, test equipment, software, training, technical documentation and publications. - Design and introduce platform / equipment updates and upgrades ensuring due diligence to all aspects of TTLS. - Manage platform / equipment obsolescence, ensuring adherence to the platform / equipment Obsolescence Management Plan. - Co-ordinate and plan for platform /equipment end-of-service life. - Identify and mitigate project / equipment TTLS risks.
Purpose of the Role:
Manage the key activities contributing to the TTLS of platforms and equipment used by clients such as DE&S, the armed forces and related equipment manufacturers. This will include the planning, delivery and operation of in-service support, equipment modifications, and resolution of design and maintenance issues. The role will work collaboratively with a range of other specialists to ensure effective through life support to and for our customers.
Essential Experience:
- Level 2
- BTEC L3/L4, ONC/HNC or equivalent experience.
- Working towards membership of a professional institution, e.g. Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) at Eng Tech or IEng level.
- Achievement of mandated internal MOD TTLS Qualification – TTLS Expert Skills Certificate (available via the Defence Learning Portal – Defence Gateway).
- Experience working in a delivery environment in TTLS roles.
- Experience of managing teams.
- Level 3
- Degree level or equivalent experience.
- Membership of a professional institution, e.g. Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) at IEng or CEng level.
- Achievement of mandated internal MOD TTLS Qualification – TTLS Expert Skills Certificate (available via the Defence Learning Portal – Defence Gateway).
- Experience working in a delivery environment in TTLS roles.
- Experience of managing different support solutions.
- Experience of managing teams.
Desirable Experience:
- Previous work with the UK Armed Forces.
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: £33-40k for L2 (dependent upon demonstrable experience) £40-50k for L3 (dependent upon demonstrable experience) per annum
