Virtual Reality Training System

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) customer was looking for a solution to improve the training of engineering diagnostics on complex systems for senior engineering managers. Babcock, the training provider for the MOD, requested project management and change management support from Engage.

Engage provided the project leadership of a team of 50 industry and MOD personnel alongside the design authority for the delivery of a Virtual Reality (VR) training system. This was the first time a VR system had been used by the MOD for engineering diagnostics, so a change programme was also required. Consequently, Engage had to develop the approach to using the system, train MOD staff to exploit the system, and deploy change management experts to embed the changes.
The successful delivery and implementation of the system exceeded customer expectation and was delivered on-time and within budget.  The outcome was so successful, the MOD ordered additional systems which were also successfully delivered. Babcock recognised the success by awarding the Engage led project team for their successful collaboration at their annual awards.
