We’re Proud to Support the Field Gun Pull 2025
This is a fantastic initiative and an impressive challenge. Last week, volunteers from Engage are proud to be joining the crew to support the Military vs Cancer Charity Field Gun Pull. This is a powerful journey of remembrance, unity, and resilience in support of Military vs Cancer and the military community affected by cancer.
It’s no small undertaking; this is Military vs Cancer’s biggest challenge to date which started on 1st September 2025. A combined total of over 1300 personnel made up of serving military, veterans and supporters will pull a 1-ton field gun over 45 days from John O’Groats to Land’s End - over 1000 miles of grit, endurance, and sheer determination. We join them for Week 7 taking the gun from Hereford to Bawdrip.
The aim is to raise £150,000 in addition to raising the profile of the work that the Military Vs Cancer charity does to alleviate the effects of cancer for Military personnel, past and present, and for their immediate families. We’re honoured to be part of this meaningful initiative and look forward to seeing the impact unfold along the route.
Over the course of week Engage colleagues William Child, Phil Croager and Reay Henstock took part. Will commented "Having run in the Brickwood's Field Gun Competition 4 times during my service career, I know how incredibly well the Field Gun community supports and strengthens those undertaking a challenge. This makes it a natural pairing for the work of Military vs Cancer and it has been an incredible honour to get back to the gun to support Week 7 of this incredible undertaking."
